A mirror is the most commonly clipped part on any vehicle, and on a modern car it is rarely just a mirror.
Power adjustment, heating, a turn signal repeater, a puddle lamp, a blind spot indicator, and on some cars a camera. Each of those is a connection that has to work again afterwards, not just a housing that has to look right.
A replacement mirror cap arrives in primer or in black plastic. Matching it to the car is refinishing work, and it is matched to the door beside it rather than to the paint code alone.
If the housing survived and only the mirror glass broke, that is a much smaller job. It is worth asking before assuming the whole assembly is gone.
If it has been hit and it also needs mechanical work, it does not need to go anywhere else.
