There are two ways to remove a dent, and the right one depends on whether the paint survived.
If the paint is intact and the metal is not stretched or creased, the dent can be worked out from behind and the original factory finish is kept. Nothing is filled and nothing is sprayed. Hail and door dings are the usual candidates.
If the paint is broken, the metal is creased, or the panel has been repaired before, the panel is worked, filled where it must be, and refinished.
Bring it in, or send photographs from wherever the car is sitting. It is usually obvious in person and often obvious from a picture.
If it has been hit and it also needs mechanical work, it does not need to go anywhere else.
