Air conditioning does not gradually use refrigerant. If it is low, it is leaking, and recharging without finding the leak just buys a few weeks.
A recharge on its own is a temporary result. The useful job is locating where it is escaping.
Compressors, clutches, condensers and blend doors all produce “the air conditioning does not work” and none of them are fixed by a recharge.
If it has been hit and it also needs mechanical work, it does not need to go anywhere else.
